  • What year do you think this opening title is from?

  • It was taped in 1987. Not sure of the year it was made though.

  • NOPE.....

  • You didn't have to cut off that Chevron ad; what if it's another sponsor?

  • The National Geographic Specials first aired on TV through CBS in 1964, then moved to ABC in 1973. PBS had been broadcasting the series since 1975. Thus, would anyone have the very old NGS intros from those years?

The music was composed by Elmer Bernstein, who also composed music for the ABC cop-drama series "The Rookies," and also the "God Music" from the 1980 Dan Aykroyd-John Belushi film "The Blues Brothers."

  • 3 People hate nature!

  • Ahh yes, how can one forget the wonderful National Geographic Specials. They really were great. When you heard this on the TV it was time to watch. And not just some stupid mindless rubbish but something interesting to learn from the program. :)
