http://twitter.com/sheadesigner My take on the open source cloud points. Using audio to drive animations, latest mental ray shaders, heavy after effects work, RPF depth mattes, camera extraction, etc. I hope everyone enjoys a few seconds.

  • Very cool. Can you just wire sizes and other values to the volume of a sound file? I've never tried it but I've always wanted to do some things with that.

  • There is a controller type that will drive nearly any channel in Max, the trick is to oversample to smooth out the waveforms a bit, threshold clipping is good to, for the on / off of it. There is also a audio waveform controller that you can setup to cycle, it generates the waveform then applies the realative values. Max now has multitrack audio if you are on subscription. -Shea

  • Awesome. I tried out the Audio controller for size and location of an object and it works great, thanks.

  • Groovy! so now I can tell you I setup audio controllers for wave space warp amplitude, sphereify amount, relax & push - even greeble heights! I await your audio driven animation. -S

  • Very cool. I guess since you can link values, you can pretty much change anything, not just size/location. I'll play around with that although I'm also working on some spaceships, buildings, RTS game units and Unreal Engine 3 special effects...so I can't promise I'll make something nice too soon. :P

  • this is great. thumbs up.

  • The heads lined up like that reminded me of mount rushmore.

  • Funny! I like it.
