  • I just watched that. Holy Cow!!! Elephants are, if not scared exactly, cautious and evasive toward mice. My thought is, what if it was having something under the dung? The reveal itself and not the object that was revealed? Maybe if they put a bright green lizard under the dung the elephant would back away from it as well. Or a white golf ball if it was the bright white color. A very interesting experiment. Elephants are way smarter than we think.

  • Good question, but If they used a bright green lizard wouldn't that be a Geico commercial?

    LOL

  • are you saying the the series has finished.

  • No. Not at all. This was about an upcoming episode that has not aired yet. They were heading back to CA after this appearance to start shooting the next myth. Discovery would be nuts to cancel a show this popular! IMHO

  • @TacticusPrime I'm sure a lot of people would like to see them investigate it further, but like they said, it was just some bonus footage they made to make the best of poor weather. If it was something they'd planned for the show, then they'd have likely done more experimenting.

  • they covered the poo flipping up alone- no reaction

they also tryed the white mouse alone- elphant avoided it

apx 90-95% of their results are not firm scientific results more science tainted entertainment. or severly edited like to the point its not showing a proper process

  • I think it may have something to do with the size of the mouse. Something that small could easily run up an elephant's trunk, and that would be like a human having a flesh eating termite in their nasal passages.

  • LOL now that you mention it...

  • wouldn't you be nervouse of a small, white object crawling out of the pile of crap you just made?

  • haha... the elephant avoids the geico gecko and walks over someones car by accident..... geico... yes... we do cover elephant injuries... 15 minutes could save you more on elephant related car insurance

  • "My thought is, what if it was having something under the dung?"

Yes, it's not a valid experiment scientifically speaking. You're right about that. So don't bet your life that elephants are scared of mice in particular. But the show sure is entertaining, though!
