This sketch is from the Bill Tush show that aired in 1982 on Superstation WTBS out of Atlanta. It features Terry Turner, who with wife Bonnie (also on the show) went on to work as a writer on SNL, then developed That 70s Show and 3rd Rock From the Sun. Also in the sketch is Eddie Lee. A follow-on pseudo promo features Bill Tush and Jan Hooks (of SNL and 3rd Rock fame).

  • I didn't find this sketch in the 13 hours of the show I found in my collection. Was it from the show with Slim Whitman? I haven't located that show yet, if I did tape it. Rob Cleveland said there were 25 episodes, but I'm wondering if he counted reruns and the "Best Of" compilations. Does anyone know?

  • I recorded this in the latter part of 1982, although it may not have been the first time the show aired. My notes don't indicate any Slim Whitman in the show. There is a takeoff on Ron Reagan Jr as a dancer with the Secret Service, a takeoff on Psycho, a group therapy session, etc. I don't know how many episodes there were in total.

  • Thanks, Gooblymoo. I'm not famous for labeling my tapes, so I hope I find more. I still have a couple of "Best Of" compilations to go through.

  • i would love to get copies--if they're in decent shape, i could transfer them to dvd if you're interested.

  • gooblymoo: Thanks!

    planetiowa: Captain Space! Please! :)

  • Tush was the funniest thing on TV - remember the ravishing Darla on Captain Space "We'll all be killed!!", or harvesting the styrafoam cups in Bulgratzia? And Foote and Sons drive-through Mortuary? I waited all week for this show to come on. funny funny stuff.

  • I'll have to put that on my "things to do" list. There was some good stuff on that little show. I haven't watched them in a while. I didn't remember the "Martian Tax Guy" sketch.

  • Oh my God, UPLOAD 'EM! Especially Tammy Jean's Inspirational Hour and "Janelle's special day with the electrolysis man"!

  • Not only do I remember this show...I have every episode on tape! Why? I'm not sure.
