Extended unemployment benefits to end

Jobless benefits will run out for 2 million people during the holiday season unless they are renewed by a Congress that may be focusing attention on preserving tax cuts.

@WW2medalsNpatchesME Why should I get a job? Give me one reason? Have 40% of my income spent foolish and recklessly? I worked hard the last 25 years supporting this system. I am not satisfied and want my money back. If I default on my taxes I go to jail. May as well do it legally.

@WW2medalsNpatchesME While I am at it.. I am going to also apply for state medical care program.. Free phone, Free cell phone And maybe apply for Judicare so I can file bankruptcy and taxpayers pay for it.. Since my home loan is FHA insured, that means taxpayers will have to pay for the cost of my home foreclosure, since my home is about 30 grand underwater..I guess the goverment will rather pay out over $170,000 in my situation than give me a few grand a few months longer. Too bad so sad.

@WW2medalsNpatchesME Nope.. I just applied for a Pell grant to continue my college education.. I get $1,500 for this term.. $1,500 for the new term in January.. $4,500. already..

I just signed up for Community Care.. And got a $1,200 hospital bill zeroed out.. I just appled for free school lunch, food stamps, energy assistance, housing assistance, I applied for free YMCA memberships, I applied for a block grant to get a new furnace, new roof, and new storm windows for my home.

I've been lucky and have not been laid off or missed a days work in 22 or 23 years with that being said I can't believe they are cutting benefits for people. I guess it's ok to hurt the people that pay into it when they are down but then our politicians get a 1.7% raise, I guess they just think of us as mere peasents and they are the supreme beings.

@WW2medalsNpatchesME I did listen to rush.. I am a Republican. Never in our history have the Republicans turned their back on the unemployed. Extended benefits were given during Reagan, Daddy Bush, Nixon, and Ford. By the way.. I am on week 27 and got cut off last week. I guess I'll just have to call up all the lenders and tell them I can't pay you this month. Obviously Rush and the Republicans will listen to the big banks they'll cave in when their buddies may need another bailout.

These people we have elected cut our paid in benefits but give themselves a 1.7% raise, this is no longer a country of we the people since we the people are owned by the government and wealthy that own our government.

@rushin2 Thank you. I hope to stay so lucky. I own a small business and made a personal pledge to only work with Americans. Even though computer programmers and designers may be cheaper in foreign countries - it comes with a big long term loss to our country.

This is another reason why I am a HUGE advocate for American labor unions.

I pray it never happens to you as it did happen to quite a few people in my area. Jobs shipped to India (microsoft) is not helping anyone either... Do you know how many H1B visa holders are currently in America? Look it up - an eye opener... How "legal" foreign workers took over American jobs for twice less the cost...
