USO of Illinois in Chicago's Memorial Day Parade, May 23, 2009
The USO of Illinois was proud to once again take part in Chicago's annual Memorial Day Parade, honoring our U.S. Armed Forces, past and present, and remembering all Fallen Heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. USO Volunteers and CNA Volunteers were out in full force, handing out 1,000 USO "Good-Morning Breakfast Goodie Bags" to fortify all military particpating in the parade that day. Volunteers also distributed hundreds of mini American flags to parade spectators lining the street, ensuring a patriotic presence down the parade route. The Northern Illinois Chapter of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association (NICMVPA) joined the USO, generously providing 22 military vehicles that would comprise a proud USO & NICMVPA caravan down the parade route.....The USO of Illinois extends a special "Thank You!" to all Volunteers who helped make Memorial Day Weekend 2009 truly special!
