Good job of focusing her attention. You even got her to look at the "lottery ticket" when you looked at it.
Compounding commands is always a good way to have the other person carry them out.
Nice job on quoting your mum as well.
Lots of neat ways to get them to smile:
Elicit a time when they've been around someone who made them smile, then watch their face and anchor them when they reach the peak of good feelings associated with the person they've been thinking about.
