My attempt at recording what an Abbott Racing 3" exhaust sounds like on a 1999 Saab 9-3 Viggen. You hear the car start up, then the video switches to a bumper mounted angle for some real road audio.

It is the full 3" system from the turbo back.

Poor tools make for a fairly mediocre recording job unfortunately. Shot using a Sony Cyber-Shot digital camera combined with an Apple iPhone with suction mount attached to the bumper..... doesn't really make for a good quality audio recording. The iPhone just cannot handle the brutality :-)

Enjoy... the best I can do for now.

  • What size is the abbott tail pipe trim exactly? Thanks

  • @yahhi12

At the tip of the pipe it measures 155mm across left to right, and 105mm top to bottom. Fits into the bumper cutout perfectly, no contact or buzzing. I have some photos on flickr but youtube isn't letting me paste the link for some reason. Search for "mike900" under people on flickr, and click on the "Viggen" folder.

  • Cabin video sounds like a good idea... I'll get on to it!

The exhaust sound is noticeable, but pleasant & easy on the ears when cruising. It's when you open up the throttle that all hell and thunder is unleashed... and it sounds great! I actually just replaced my air filter box with an open pod type recently to get even more sound from the car.

  • No videos for the c900 yet.... down the track :)

Great! I'll be fitting 2.5" cat back with

    ~160x75mm tail pipe soon.
