  • To those who say Muay Chaiya "Stole" grappling from BJJ are you kidding?

that's like saying Muay Thai "Stole" punches from western boxing.

Is it really so hard to conceive that people in other parts of the world can come up with similar techniques?

    People are so stupid.

BTW Muay Chaiya is a form of Muay Boran.... or Ancient Muay Thai.

If they did "Steal" it they stole it hundreds of years ago so long it hardly matters. Who knows maybe japanese copied it from the Thai's does it really matter?

  • Muay chaiya is one of thee boran styles of muay Thai Boran. Muay Thai sport is designed for stand up striking only. Muay Thai boran is a complete fighting system with ground work, locking and breaking as well as the striking

  • @SinclairCeltics1990

Muay boran literally means ancient boxing. It's what was trained for thai soldiers for use in the battle field. and no it doesnt look like juijitsu to me

  • just my personal opinion, absorbtion from other martial art might be happen in order to rectify the some weaknesses of particular marial art. in the no borders world now when culture met with other culture it must happen. we can look at other video in youtube when original muay thai lost to other grappling base martial art. so, some action must be taken to overcome the weakness. sorry if i mistake n my english is bad. i really love martial art n do research on them n one of them is muay thai.

  • This is a good fight but would be better appreciated if the camera was a closer high lighting the intensity of combat between the 2 great fighters. Trying to see the combatans on the other side of the ropes is distracting.

  • So when they fight on the ground, is this still traditional Chaiya or is this something that has been added over the years due to the popularity of grappling sports. ?

  • LOL! so you mean Muay Boran have stolen techniques from BJJ?! and btw, Jui jitsu and BJJ is the same thing... Ju jutsu is the original japan version... LOLZ gay..

  • A demonstration :)

  • Sorry lolz Muay Boran comes from Jui jitsu and BJJ lolz

  • Its really similar technique but they were still using Muay Chai ya when they were on the ground, that's one of the reason Muay Boran(used in battle field) is different from Muay Thai(sport)
