Prospecting is a fundamental part of any MLM business.
It's important that you don't waste time on trying to prospect just everyone and anyone that's fair game. (Like old school MLM methods had many network marketers do.)
These old methods-
the 3 foot rule, cold calling and targeting your "warm market" of family and friends often leads to a hit and miss situation.
You spend hours and hours prospecting everyone, and it's a bit like the lotto- you could be lucky and find the Hot Leader-but most often, it doesn't happen.
It also very often leads to attrition, because the wrong type of people come in to the business- because of the way they were prospected.
A fundamental skill in network marketing is to know how to attract the right prospects to you through scientific target market identification and niche marketing.
You need to have your prospects come to you instead of you chasing them down.
This is huge- because people don't like being sold, but they love to buy. They like to approach when they are ready- not before that!
Putting yourself in the visible eye of your ideal customer and then being a solutions provider, offering them solutions to their pains, needs, wants and desires...
This is so different from being perceived as a salesman trying to pitch your deal.
