I traveled to Colorado (stayed in Colorado Springs) this summer with my family and here are my favorite pictures (and yes, I made a point to keep people out of the pictures :D).

First stop-Greensburg, Kansas! We drove through Kansas on our way and took some pictures. Greensburg is a town that was hit by a tornado back in 2007 and almost all of the buildings and homes were destroyed. Greensburg is now the location of Planet Green's show 'Greensburg' where teams of people work together to rebuild their lost town while making it environmentally friendly! :)

Second Stop-Cave of the Winds! On our first day in Colorado we visited Cave of the Winds. To get there you have to drive up a small, winding mountain and once you do arrive, the view is incredible! Cave of the Winds was first discovered by two young brothers in 1880 and get its name from the whistling noise it is known to make as wind travels through it.

Third Stop-The Unites States Air Force Academy! Also on our first day we saw nestled in the Rockies the official school of the air force. :]

Forth Stop-Garden of the Gods! On our second day we drove through the Garden of the Gods. It was formed from years of erosion and is now one of the most popular (and free) tourist attractions in Colorado. Best part is, you can even climb the rocks! :D

Fifth Stop-Pikes Peak! After visiting Garden of the Gods, we took a train ride up Pikes Peak, one of Colorado's highest mountains at 14,110 feet (4.300728 kilometers). At the top there are fresh, homemade doughnuts and and an incredible view. When we visited it, there was still even a bit of snow!

Sixth Stop-Royal Gorge! On our final day we took another train, this time into Royal Gorge. As seen in the photos, we passed the Arkansas River and stopped below the famous Royal Gorge Bridge 1,118 feet (0.3407664 kilometers) above us.

Over all the trip was absolutely breathtaking and I would recommend Colorado to any family with kids from toddlers to even hard-to-please teens!
