At Post Oak Elementary, a public school in the Lansing School District, they have started the Chinese Immersion Program. That means kids spend half of their day learning in an English based curriculum and the other half in a Chinese based curriculum. The goal of the program is to mold regular English speaking American children into dual language citizens. The program will grow one grade each year, making this third grade class the leaders in a new teaching technique brought to public education.
