Panasonic is the same quality as Sony and much better than Samsung... Sony just likes to sell thing to you a lot more expansive.. I had this TV since it came out back in 03. Still works like a champ!!! Changed the lamp once for 120 ready for another 7 years. Go spend your $ on Sony and plasmas that when the lamp goes out it runs you 500+. This Panasonic is the one for me!

@capttast Hello there, I too love this tv, and its acting up right now it takes forever to turn on and the red lamp light has come on, I read that you replaced the lamp and also reset the hrs, can you please tell me how and where to get this bulb and reset. Thank you for your help

rear projections are old the best tvs are sony bravia and samsung 55 inch or lcd panisonic

Had it for 4 years, replaced the lamp this year. Reset the 5000 hour timer months ago, finally replaced the lamp. 120 on ebay. Took 5 minutes and 1 screw to free the housing. Still has a beautiful picture.
