Blink-182 is okay, but Green Day has been around longer and has a ton more meaning behind their lyrics, so my vote goes to them.

Oh and another point for blink is that they have never been involved in plagio acusations, Green Day has a few like warning, american idiod, boulevard...

@MarinatedTenderloins Well I respect your opinion...but i dont see any similitudes between rock show and all the small things....but i do admit that blink repeat some melodies for example Going away to college and Anthem they both have almost the same chorus melody
Anyway i think we agree that both bands are good but they tend to repeat some chords and melodies...wich is also very often in pop punk music.

@Leojk87 Green day repeats chord progressions, but blink repeats chord progressions AND melodies. for example, the Rock Show is exactly like All The Small things, and the melody is exactly like Online Songs. I'm not gonna go through my blink 182 in itunes and find all the examples, but there are a lot more than green day. especially when it comes to melodies. again, i love both bands... but green day is still, even now, a little more original.

@MarinatedTenderloins Mmm i think Green Day has repeat more songs than blink...Viva la Gloria is Letterbomb, Shoplifter sounds like some other from Warning etc....Wich blink songs do you think sounds exactly the same?
Ive said it before, GD is overall better but blink evolved more interesting in my opinion, The last two blink records are more expansive than the last two from GD.

I remember always doing these comparisons in 7th grade with my friends. I used to always say Blink, but there's no denying Green Day's skill either.

blink has too many songs that sound exactly the same... not that green day doesn't have any of those, blink 182 just has way too many. both are great bands and have big influences on modern punk but green day is better.

@Leojk87 shenanigans is a compilation of b-sides, not an album. Thats why it isn't so good

green day. When Dookie was released Punk literally exploded onto the scene!
Blink 182 are a great band but without Green Day, there probably wouldnt be a Blink 182, or Sum 41 among others!
Can you imagine what life would be like without greenday? that is one depressing thought!
