Exklusiv für den Beat Club und das Deutsche Fernsehen! The Who mit Roger Daltry (v), Pete Townsend (g), John Entwistle (b) und Keith Moon (d) live im Marquee Club in London am 11.03.1967.

As one of the most celebrated, covered and referenced songs in rock history, My Generation also presaged the heavy metal and punk rock movement. Pete Townsend wrote the song on his twentieth birthday while riding on a train and never thought that the song will become the hymn of the British mod subculture. In 2004 the Rolling Stone magazine named it the 11th greatest song in their "500 Songs Of All Time"-list.

Daltrey = maybe best rock vocal ever on this song. He is comparatively boring and without charm next to Moon and Townsend, and as such I think the fact that he is maybe the best rock vocalist ever gets totally overlooked. No one really likes Roger, and a

townsend wrote last year that after Moon died, Entwistle told him he wasn't the leader at all in terms of driving the song, that Moon was playing lead guitar riffs on his drums. He went back and reviewed tapes, and it was true. Keith led the Who live, he was the heart of the band. No where is that more evident than here. He is indeed playing drums like the lead, watch him throughout,
