Dennis Miller Chides Newsweek Magazine for Ranking US 11th Best Country in World

Appearing on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" last night, comedian Dennis Miller blasted the beleaguered Newsweek magazine for ranking the United States the 11th "best country in the world," behind left-of-center nations like Finland, Switzerland, and Sweden.

Performing on Veterans Day for an audience comprised of American military personnel, Miller showed his patriotic stripes: "Hey, Newsweek, go fjord yourself okay. Finland is the s--- little plastic village you set up under the Christmas tree every year."

An impassioned Miller quipped: "The best thing about living in Finland is they don't get Newsweek magazine."

@mark224 Way to go reinforcing the stereotype of arrogant, disrespectful and overly patriotic (nationalist?) Americans.

I haven't counted all the Americans teaching at Finnish universities, but so far I've had at least eight Americans teach me at university. Still, I'm not sure how this is relevant as there is that little language barrier that might make teaching in Finland difficult for some Americans.

BTW. Fjords are a Norwegian thing, not Finnish.

Education in Finland is the best in the world. Universities don't cost anything. Americans think that they know everything about everything. Well, most of the people don't even know where the Europe is or what it even is. Or where Finland is. Finnish people learn at school where is USA, China, Brazil, Australia and the other countries of the world. I have been studying english seven years now (I'm 15) and I have basic skills what I need when travel.

In Finland even the poorest peoples can go to universities, its not the same in USA. In america you have diffrent culture on universities what we can't compare.
