L.A. Blues Alliance features Keb' Mo', Sonny Landreth, Stanley Behrens, Mike Finnigan, Bob Glaub, Amy Keys, David Morgan, John "JR" Robinson, W.G. Snuffy Walden
When Snuffy first joined the band they were going under the name "Aphroditie." They were originally a three-piece and the unsung heroes of Denver. After Snuffy joined it became apparent he was the major talent. If you ever saw their version of Paperback Writer you'd know! The new 4-piece Aphroditie soon opened for ELP at the Denver Coliseum and blew Greg Lake away. He signed them to Manticore and changed their name to Stray Dog. Label, management troubles, etc from then on.
SNUFFY WALDEN....THE MAN!!! Anyone who doesn't know his first band STRAY DOG from the early 70s has some SERIOUS homework to do. Killer hard/blues rock with Snuffy blazing and singin' some great smokey sexy
Snuffy, those years over at MTM with Eddie Z. I loved the moment, when I was 30 something and you broughthim his old guitar because Liberty made you... and you both played into the wee hours of production office time....wow. I'm 53 now and am so happy you are healthy, playing and still sharing your enormous gifts...and accepting such comfortable shoes! Dance by the Light of the moon!
I dont know mike but I was a close friend of Snuffy's brother Doug who we lost last year and I used to live in Chanute across from the ball field and across from whetre monkey Island used to be in the little white house on the corner. I have met Snuffy on several occasions. God Bless Blues music and the memory of Doug Walden...
