  • for subaru is due to the boxer engine that makes them deep base den raspy

  • exhaust manifold, most stock exhaust manifolds for hondas are INCREDIBLY restrictive so installing a catback on the stock header will usually sound raspy aswell.. a header can really clean up the sound...

  • I understand the resonator. I don't know why anyone runs without one...I mean maybe for that 1/2 horspower lol. But my friends Subaru Impreza RS (no turbo) is running catless with a resonator and it isn't raspy at all.

What I'm trying to figure out is why Honda's always sound so raspy even with the resonator.

  • they sound raspy because people always delete their cats and run with no resonator with a canister style exhaust.. if you want your honda to sound good you need 1) a cat 2) a very long resonator and 3) an OVAL style exhaust.. that's all it takes

search up nvidia GT300 exhaust on a honda, those are amazing examples of a deep non raspy sounding exhaust on a honda..

  • I just saw a video of a Fit with Stromung axleback and a megan midpipe and it didn't sound too bad, but I still don't understand why honda's always sound so raspy.

  • yeah there is, you NEED a cat and a resonator, if you run a test pipe on a honda it's going to sound like shit

  • Is there any way to make it deeper and less raspy? That's the one thing I can't stand about most honda exhausts, they are always super raspy. Look up borla hush for subarus, there are many videos. If they engineered something like that (obviously wouldnt have the rumble) with that tone I think it would sound good.

  • Hey, that's a pretty good sound.

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yaaaaaaaaaaa

    i love that sound

simplest modification, take off the axle back:)
