Simulation of the random packing procedure in spheres. First, the spehres are distributed onto the sites of a body centered cubic array. Afterwards, random motion is applied to the spehres. Here, the packing ratio is set to phi=0.5. Every frame shows one shaking procedure.

This grid allows the fast calculation of intersections between spheres.
