You're right, the high G can be annoying unless it matches the Gillan version. this and the original version by Ian Gillan are by far the best for me. 2 great rock singers:)

I love this. This dude is incredible. But I also love people who do the G's.
Two different interpretations. Don't be a dick. They all have their own merits.

Wow, I heard people talking about this version and I wasn't expecting much and now I am BLOWN AWAY
-
I love Gillians version, but i prefer this one.....love Farnham vocals, truly masterpiece. But Gillian is masterpiece too.
-
@Metalhead1979 Not even close to being true. They're both kickass, just having different sounds and styles.
-
Farnhams interpretation of covers are always different to their originals which is probably why he didnt attempt the high G. However, this version IMO is by far the best Ive heard. Farnhams voice is far superior to others who have sung the song previously despite the absence of the high G falsetto.
He did however sing a high G when performing live shows and I saw the show twice..!

I like how you say "feel free to rate and comment" but any body who says stuff against Farnham you cuss the crap out of them....anyway this version is great...but I love a lot of versions of this. Believe it or not it is possible to not just like one singer.

WOW this is BRIlliant

@hed99bpb yeah exactly when steve performs the song you can hear all the emotion, fear and frustration coming out in his voice where as this is just someone singing it.
And Metalhead1979, get over yourself and try and start accepting other peoples opinions, I admit that Farnham is a very good singer but on this song no one beats Balsamo.
-
Balsamo = dramatic, and acting skillz
Farnham = power and roughness
Seems to me that everyone has forgotten about this being a DRAMATIC musical song, and not your everyday rock/metal song. Farnham isn't suited to play jesus, at all, because of all that power and roughness! Balsamo is suited because he has a light and bright voice without all that power (and he can act).
So stop all that negative commenting, and realize that you are debatting with two different perspectives.

@Metalhead1979 Ppl can have different opinions then u, deal with it
Two words: Steve Balsamo. Lloyd Webber wrote this and said that Balsamo was 'asbolute perfection'.

@MetalliMad Balsamo = boring, run of the mill tripe.
Farnham = dynamic, powerful & unmatched talent.
Deal with it or remain blind... It's your choice.

ANNOYING HIGH G FALSETTO??????? OHHHH I'M PISSED NOW!! THAT'S NOT IGNORANCE, THAT'S A SIN!! you just don't know anything about music!!!!!!!!!!!!! IAN GILLAN best singer ever

@Aztlnight Like I've said... Farnham is a master vocalist. A true once in a lifetime talent.
Sadly you must know nothing about music. I bet you don't even know who John Farnham is.
So I suggest you crawl back into your hole of ignorance.
You Lose!!!

@Aztlnight Dude... Chill. I'm a musian myself... Point is that even Phil Anselmo could hit the High G head voice with more power then Gillan.
Stop living in the past... And don't dissmiss the unfamiliar. Lest you be short changing yourself. And for that I pity you.

You should all stop comparing this rendition to the older ones...
If you do you're ripping yourself off!!
Farnham is the VOICE. Deal with it or F*** off.
John is a master vocalist. He interprets songs based on his feeling for the context.
If he had sung a carbon copy of Gillan or Neeley, I would have been disappointed.
Farnham could have hit the high G for 10 minutes... But he made this song his bitch.
