Leaf, the acclaimed leader in the design of digital backs for professional photographers and developer of the world's fastest digital camera backs, delivers the new Leaf AFi -- a next-generation, medium-format digital camera aimed at professional photographers.
Specifically designed for high-resolution digital photography, the Leaf AFi product line is comprised of three models: Leaf AFi 7, Leaf AFi 6 and Leaf AFi 5.
The Leaf AFi distinguishes itself from competitive products by offering high speed, up to 70 images per minute, combined with a very large, ergonomically-designed screen and body. The result is a camera that combines leading technologies into one elegant package that is very simple and intuitive to use.
The Leaf AFi is flexible, easily adaptable, and fully compatible with the Leaf digital back technology. Designed and developed with input from the world's leading photographers, the Leaf AFi incorporates the latest Schneider Autofocus Digital (AFD) lenses. These lenses have been specifically created for use with 30+ MP digital camera backs -- offering optimal focus while making the best use of high-resolution CCD sensors.
Dov Kalinski, General Manager of Leaf comments: "We're very enthusiastic about the positive customer feedback that we've received during beta testing of the Leaf AFi in the market. The PhotoPlus Expo is an excellent way to offer a closer look at an innovative, high-end digital camera system that addresses the technical requirements of professional photographers, in a robust and easy-to-use format."
Based on a newly-designed ergonomic camera body, the Leaf AFi offers myriad unique features, including:
• Changeable viewfinder system (waist level or 90°/prism view)
• Specially designed Schneider-Kreuznach digital lenses for speed
and sharp images
• Adjustable control grip provides ergonomically optimal angles
for different shooting positions
• Switching between portrait and landscape by turning only the
camera back; no need to turn the camera

  • "Switch from portrait to landscape by only turning the camera back, not the camera"

That's what it says on callumet's web site...so, do you have to detach the back from the camera in order to do portrait or landscape photos???

  • you have to remove the back from the camera

  • do you have to remove the back from the body in order to rotate it?

I believe that for the Leaf twin sister, Sinar Hy6, the back can be rotated without detaching it from the camera thus avoiding dust to enter the sensor.

    ????

  • The Leaf has a 6x6 sensor so there is no need to rotate it, but you can mount it either direction

  • no wonder photography is so expensive. These cameras are crazy expensive.

  • Are they still supporting this camera since the designers went belly up? This is an old camera that I wouldn't recommend getting into... I think the mamiya/phase combo might be the best buy for right now... At least you're dealing with a more stable support system? I think Hassy might be the next best bet.

  • Leaf AFi II?

  • @Leeparksing 56x36mm? That's not even 6x4.5! Wake me when they have real "medium format" sized sensors.

I'm happy shooting with old film gear. It gives so much for so little!

  • I wish those rangefinder 6x7s would return, and the 6 x 7 too

  • What in the name of god is that? it makes stills or movies?

  • clunky --- ill keep my canon 7D

  • want to sponsor me? no money for that piece of art

  • wow that touch screen looks awful to use

  • That camera sounds gnarly.
