We're hearing a lot about fairness from this administration. But is it fair for their EPA to increase what Americans pay for electricity by imposing expensive new regulations on coal-fueled power plants? With all the pain at the pump, now is the time to act before we feel the pain at the plug. Coal is affordable, abundant and ours. Learn more at AmericasPower.org.

A responsible transition from coal to cleaner alternatives is necessary to maintain the US economy. What is happenening is too much too fast. If you want to support clean energy, buy only products made in the US. The American public imports $Trillions$ of product made in China who has the dirtiest power. This is a global problem and the US is spinning its wheels if other nations don't join the efforts.

You are saying that an established coal industry is getting more government subsidies than wind and solar? WOW! REALLY!?!?! As a power engineer, having worked with both renewable and fossil energy, I think you are a victim of bad information. Find out what renewable energy credits are and how they work. You will find out that coal is paying for renewables.

Nuclear would be cheaper than coal if coal was held to the same safety standards. Every year, the coal industry exposes people to thousands of times as much radiation than the nuclear industry with the isotopes in the ashes they emit.

"We're hearing a lot about fairness from this administration. But is it fair for their EPA to increase what Americans pay for electricity by imposing expensive new regulations on coal-fueled power plants?"

Of course not. That's why the coal industry should expect to see reductions in their profit margins, as opposed to passing those costs on to the American consumers, while increasing profits each quarter for shareholders and issuing handsome raises and bonuses to officers and maagement.

    "Their EPA"?

I think we can all agree that these clean coal shills have no interest in the welfare of the American public.

Clean Coal is a myth. Also, if they had to survive without government subsidies, tax breaks and incentive, the cost of coal would rise to equal that of solar and wind. It's time we let them survive on their own, and clean up our air and water. "Around $1.5 billion of the federal costs are associated with damages to miners’ health such as the notorious black lung disease." Does that seem "FAIR" to you?
