my mother in law gave it to me because she said it was too complicated. lol. then i had trouble with it and i figured they would have a video on youtube on how to use it, i was right. thank GOD for youtube.
Actually, i got this tip elsewhere.. It makes opening the can easier.. =)
You simply attach the can opener to the can, making sure the plastic turn knob is perpendicular to the can. Turn the handle one round and begin turning the handle in REVERSE! After going around the can in reverse about 25% of the circumference, the lid of the can will pop up, allowing you to remove it. There are no sharp edges on this lid at all, and you don't have to pry it up.
