This is a higher quality version of the All Aboard the Fun Train video made on March 9, 2008. It replaces the previous All Aboard the Fun Train video.
Here we see the crowd of 700 passengers waiting for the Key Holidays Amtrak charter Fun Train. This train is separate from the California Zephyr and runs the same route from Emeryville to Reno. It makes it's last stop in Sacramento before going over Donner Pass to Reno.
For more information about the annual Winter runs of the Fun Train and Snow Train, see keyholidays.com. The Fun Train runs up to Reno on Friday and returns to Emeryville on Sunday. You have to be 21 to ride the Fun Train. It features a live band on board in a dance car.
The Snow Train is a up-Tuesday and back-Thursday train that is appropriate for kids. It features a DJ instead of a live band. Passengers stay at various downtown Reno hotels while the train spends the weekend at the Sparks Union Pacific yard, east of Reno, Nevada.
This year's dance car was Bill Hatrick's Overland Trail car. Also on this years train were Wayne Yetter's Rio Grande Royal Gorge and Plaza Santa Fe dome car.
The rest of the consist includes several Amtrak Amfleet single level cars, plus Amtrak's 10031 dome car. This year the train also pulled the Tolani and on the last trip it included the City of Angels car.
My favorite part of this video is the Hawaiian women singing on the Reno Trench platform before boarding the Fun Train.
I noticed a slight typo in this vid!!!!
at 1:02 the title in the video says "March 9, 2007" but the voice says "March 9, 2008.

Great video., love the multi-view at the beginning. The commentary does not match the graphic at 1:07., years are
different. Not nitpickin', just pointing it out!

@maddennis55 hey thanks I appreciate it, it was 2008 now that I look at this more closely. Forget what I told Coaststarlight11.

@SF3751 Oh well, it's the Plaza Santa Fe (and Royal Gorge) that really make the difference, along with the Overland Trail.
