That's odd. I have the same model and year and my rear seats don't fold down. There is no room because of the sheet metal bracing across the back seat.

@fradet8 Very true - It happened to my '03 Spec V, but luckily I had a 100K mile warranty that covered the replacement of the new engine. Nissan's fix--besides replacing the engine--is to put the same pre-cat manifold in with a screen that prevents pieces of the pre-cat from getting sucked back in. I simply replaced the entire exhaust, top to bottom, and now it runs and sounds great.
