The main problem of the Luftwaffe was fuel capacity. They only had a very short operating time over Britain so they also could make it back.
They knocked on your door. Be happy that Hitler first wanted to get Russia as main target in 1940, cause in full blown war with no Russian front it would've been over. One or two British Islands off the French coast, that were occupied by Germany had their own protocol (etiquette, sorry for my English) for ground troops.

There are many more things to explore about this scenario. Anyway, what you have to know is that Nazi-Germany was not focused on destroying England or it's people. They were "pro" English in many points. If they would've wanted to do similar things like for example in Poland or Russia, the attack would have gone on with no remorse after Dunkerque and no troops could've make it back over the canal.

@repzyree After looking at the video again, I believe you are correct. It is a DB-601.
Should have noticed what looks like struts on the tail as well as the early war paint job.
You wouldn't see any G or K models with a bright yellow nose.
Thanks, and corrected.

@rampking1 actualy this 109 looks like a late E or an early F model, i does not have the bulging air intake, or the bulks under the wings. so i would believe this beeing a DB-601

@bunman44 Daylight bombing had ceased but night bombing had started, i wouldn't have said britain would have lost the war without the U.S, lets not forget it the commonweatlh was involved also, britain was holding it's own and also starting to take the fight to the germans before the US entered the war. I think what would have happened if the US had not come in is you would have had stalemate between the two sides.

@yesanded - Good comment...For your ultimate weopon...google Ron (Ras) Berry...A WW2 Spit' fighter Ace who once trained US pilots for operation torch...A shy young office clerk who flew over 400 front line missionsand was never shot down...These guys had real balls

@mongorians22: I think this is an illusion. The frame rate for video is 30 frames per second. I don't know what speed the props turn at, but I think what we're seeing is a sort of strobe effect, making it look as though the props are turning slowly, when in fact they're spinning at high speed.
The turning point of WWII was when Germany lost The Battle of Britain. Germany could not invade the UK, because it could not gain air supremacy over England.
That was when Germany began to lose the war (followed by heavy losses on the Eastern Front).
(P51s came very late in the war.)

@reddiethecat Thats wrong, Hitler tried to invade Britain in Summer 1940 before the US supplies even got going. No US planes were used in the Battle of Britain, even the Browning Machine guns were made in Britain. By the end of 1940, when the Germans could not gain air superiority, they knew they could never successfully invade Britain. I know your TV channels like to imply otherwise, but I'm afraid its just not true. Mustangs didnt get into service until mid-1943.
