That's pretty cool. Nice bike.

We are dealers of Hatz engines and spares and have just set up a forum for users to share their experiences and find help with any problems they may be experiencing. Check out the forum on our website.

wenn ich die kohle habe, kaufe ich mir auch ein diesel motorrad :-)

Hmm, wonder if one of these motors would fit in my Ural's frame. A diesel engine with 4.62:1 final drive ratio, and 2WD would really rock off road!

Lustige Sache :)

diesel power baby yeah

Thats right, but a bike with sidecar and a Diesel I have never really seen. Only the solo bikes which came to us.

grate vid...do you have any idea how much is an engine like this and can you please tell me the engine model and also the fuel consumption.
I have a plan to mount an Hats engine too on my bike.
Regards from Romania.

@bogdanvelica I don't really know the price of that engine, it's an older model I guess; But, you can check out the official hatz diesel website and choose a multizylinder engine. Fuel consumption is really low, about 3ltrs/100km.

I live 50m in nieghbourhood of the factory Hatz. There are normal Motorbikes with Diesel motors, too.
As normal man you won`t get it. they are experimental bikes but work great ^^

In that case, my hometown isn't far away from yours... Reffering to the experimental solo bikes, you' mentioned, there's one ciritical issue: the centroid (Schwerpunkt) of the motorcycle. When you watch my video carefully, you will notice that because of the diesel engine's height, the normal gas tank is only a fake one - the real tank is under the sidecar. Therefore i doubt, that a solo bike's driving characteristics are really good. No problems with a sidecar, of course...

Basically yes, but I don't know wether a hatz diesel engine can be used with (or transformed to) veggie oil. But i wouldn't destroy such a nice BMW! Stay original...

It's a Dnepr with a lengthened frame and perhaps a Diahatsu in there???
TroyaE117 3 years ago
Yes, and no. The frame is lenghtend, but the engine is originally a HATZ Diesel model. Normally used in an industrial environment... vmax: appr. 110km/h
