This video shows how I stretch my stone resources by making usable points out of very difficult pieces of stone. Most of what I use is discarded by other flintknappers. Expand your capabilities and your resources by challenging yourself to make points out of seemingly impossible pieces of stone. This video will help show you how.....

  • What type of rock is that?

    Thanks

  • @zekeyo37 It's just flint that I found.

  • what is the thing ur hitting it with and where do i get one?

    thanks

  • It's just the main beam from a whitetail deer, with a small part of the skull still attached. I got it from a deer that my dad shot. You can either get them from friends or buy them.

  • Nice video series, I had a go at it after I saw the vid and got several decent arrowheads out of some flint I would normally bin.

  • Dude thanks so much. I'm just starting out and so this video was really helpful. I've only been at it for a couple days but I always heard you should obey these centerline rules. I was experimenting this morning trying to make a preform, and I had some mass in a wierd area, so I used those bending fractures to take alot of it off, I made sure to support it heavily like you said though so that the whole piece wouldn't break :)

  • I want to learn flint knapping but it looks so hard. I'm willing to try though and I'm not afraid to fail. Can I start with just using hammerstones? I have some antlers I could make pressure flakers with, but they're not really thick enough to make billets.

  • LOVE this video! I just started knapping, and material is pretty scarce around here...found several small pieces of rock similar to that one, and this video is giving me confidence to tap into them....thanks!

  • to complete your name of primitavepathways post a vid of making a primitive bow :)

  • I love this video becouse I find small 8 to 10 ounce cobbles of good stone here in NY and when I work them it is just like this video. Thanks for posting
