This is it. THE infamous "5643". Think you've heard an instrumental from a "Country" band that REALLY KICKS ASS?
Think again, sports fans, because you haven't heard THIS one.
Imagine that Brad Paisley, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Phish got together to write a really fun instrumental. THIS is what they would end up writing. It's a great trip through the classic and frenetic style of rockabilly (Paul Brunner really throws DOWN on the fiddle in this section, too), continuing through classic 16-bar-style blues (Luke Richards manages to stay in the pocket, while still throwin' in some great licks), into a great "free-form/jam band/what-the-hell-did-they-just-play?"-style section (which is more or less a drum solo for Luke, and it's a GOOD one), and then back to the beginning. And yes, it's all done with Paul's signature sound from his Fender Telecaster/Dr. Z Stang Ray combo. Good stuff, folks.
The changes of style/genre, dynamics and time signature...all conspire to serve up a musical dish, the likes of which most people have never dreamed--let alone HEARD. It's a bunch of wildly divergent flavors, but when brought together, they really WORK.
It's fun. Enjoy it!
