  • Those are not really impressive trials...I got a '89 stock Hilux and I go places where you'd never go. Old gen Toyota is the only good type. Ask a real Toyota fan.

  • @VincentViolence Who are you? Some are more impressive than others, but lake como road is often referred to as the roughest in the state. Red cone also has some big boulders on the uphill as of late that would stop many vehicles. It almost stopped me, as I got sort of high centered. But I made it fine. And quite frankly, sir, these are all legit trails, especially for a stock vehicle.

  • @adkinsadam1 I'm saying that new gens aren't built for off roading as much as the old gens.. Done well for stock but I seen some stocks go through some crazy stuff.

  • @VincentViolence I disagree. The new gens are built for off roading just as much as the old gens. In fact, the 2010 4Runner trail was fourwheeler Mag's off roader of the year.

  • You've rather impressed me. For a stock 4x4 this does very well. I love the trails you went on, also. I'll have to add those to my list for the future. What tires are those? Have you ever had to swap to the spare on the trail? It seems like some of those trails might've been tire eaters. I just went to Colo last weekend, and the trail I tried to get too was still blocked by snow. I can't wait to get back up there once spring really starts. You live the life!

  • @leopardian Well thanks a lot! It will be July before you can get on any real mountain trails. I have never had a tire failure on one of these trails and I just have stock BF Goodrich radial long trail tires. Skid plates are a MUST.

  • @counkev The 4runner is 10x better off road than the Hummer H2. People think the H2 is so great but ask anybody, it is not! You would look like the biggest idiot taking a Hummer up some of the roads shown in this video lol.

  • @adkinsadam1 What video camera do you use? I have an old Panasonic DV camcorder. I really wish I could upgrade, but the way technology moves, you're never caught up. I'll keep that in mind about July. I just hate waiting. If I'd had a winch or someone else along who could give me a pull, I'd have gone further, but I didn't want to get stuck on my own. I drive a ZJ, btw. People that hate on Jeeps or Toys really just need to chill. It's about wheeling, getting out there, not what you drive.

  • pretty impressive for a stock 4runner

  • @VincentViolence No one can ever deny the classics, but the new ones have complex technology that makes it superior in the dirt. I love the old ones better strictly because they are still very good without any of that electronic crap. I have a stock '90 4Runner, which should effectively be the same as your Hilux. It's the best thing I've ever driven.

  • Glad to see someone post what a stock 4Runner was meant for! Great video and pictures.

  • @adkinsadam1 Then why is it every off road place has the old gen Toyota's that are more reliable rather than the new gen with all it's useless extra electronic features? They had a good thing going but changed to make them more road friendly and not as reliable. The 22RE Toyota engine was the best built I don't know why they stopped making it and put more plastic parts onto the new gens. Oh wait yes I do it's so they make more money.

  • Tht thing did good for stock damn

  • i noticed in 2006 all 4runners got new look tail lights.. but most of them have chrome grills to...why does your still have a colored girll and what option is that? i prefer the colored grill over the chrome grill
