dont stay at red roof inn either I threw an empty cigarette pack in the trash can and got a $100.00 fine on my credit card they said I was smoking in the room but was not manager unreasonable tried to call thier customer service was on hold more than 30 minutes listening to music never talked to anyone BEWARE they credit card scammers

I stayed there last year. I kinda get what everyone says about it being scary and i would never stay there alone, i did like it though. I went with uni and all our rooms were ok, some where better than other but you get what you pay for

Yikes ..bottom line is when the place is that dark it means they don't want you to see the dirt or find the bedbugs. NY hotels are so risky right now, even the 4 & 5 stars have issues with bugs etc. Overall it's worth it to pay a little extra for peace of mind..try the Hilton near Times Square next time, very clean :)

Awww! I'm so sorry. I wish I would have known. nineteen percent did a video on that hotel a while back. Your story made me want to cry. Hers had me dying of laughter but you both covered the same issues: I will NEVER STAY there lololol!

hotel penn is really really shitty! some rooms are nice, but some are dreadful, my cousins stayed in a room there and the room was GIGANTIC and dark and empty. not worth the money at all!
and NO the standard for a new york Hotel. i've even stayed in "shitty" hotels here and they were NICER than that craphole. i'm a native new yorker and YES this review is 100% accurate to that dreadful place
