Yasmina Ramzy Bellydance Demo

Yasmina Ramzy is the founder and Artistic Director of Arabesque Dance Company & Orchestra, Arabesque Academy and the International Bellydance Conference of Canada. She received her key training from leading masters in the Middle East including Aida Nour and Mohamed Khalil of the National Folklore Troupe of Egypt. She has toured throughout the Middle East and worldwide performing, teaching and choreographing Middle Eastern dance since 1981.
Yasmina's artistic vision has been awarded by Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council and The Laidlaw Foundation. Her creative and unique choreography has received rave reviews in national, international and Middle Eastern mainstream media. Across North America, she has been commissioned to create choreographies for many universities, museums and dance companies including the world renowned Bellydance Superstars. Yasmina is well known around the globe for elevating the status of Middle Eastern dance. Her workshops promote the power of the female spirit and rich Arab culture. She has produced 8 instructional DVDs, 6 performance DVDs and 6 music CDs that sell worldwide. Yasmina Ramzy is a member of the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists, and serves on the Board of Directors for Dance Ontario.

Umm not really... many belly dancers should have some flab, it makes the dance look way better as you can actually see the movement. And how can you say she is outta shape, for a dance like that i am sure she eats very well, not everyone has to be thin to do belly dancing.

For everyone who says Belly Dance is for a certain look/people... I say it was meant for people. Not just women, not just women who look any certain way, not just women from a certain place. The dance is all about the music and your heart. Well we all have hearts don't we. And I don't think when a musician is making music they are thinking, "Man, I hope no skinny white chicks in North America start dancing to this." It's art. Art belongs to everyone who feels it.

@Lindabellydance i agree. Nobody showed me a book that said all the dancers had to be "sticks" liike Lara Flynn Boyle and Calista Flockhart. There's a good number of men out there, I believe that want's a dancer who looks like she has had a actual meal once in a while.
