Carmina Burana performed just outside the Oregon Country Fair, July 10th, 2009. Movement 20: O Fortuna. This production was billed as the "Fire Opera".
Ahhh! I had completely forgotten about this! It was on my birthday and was absolutely breathtaking! I think the people who are being jerks came here expecting to see a full-fledged operatic production of Orff and they really just don't understand Fair. Therefore, pity them. :) It was glorious!
I'm not talking about the quality of the sound of the video, I'm saying that the real thing that you need to play well this piece is a good choir and orchestra. It seems to have enough choir, but the orchestra is prectically inexistent (is that a casio keyboard in the background?)
I was in the choir for this. While I will be the first to admit it was not the worlds best interpretation of this classic music piece it did sound better live than this little camcorder rendition. And the soprano soloist was fantastic as were all of the soloists.
Cut us some slack--we were inhaling copious quantities of kerosone smoke while attempting to sing. I wish there were a soundboard recording of this. I promise you it wouls sound better than this copy.
When I saw it in Córdoba, there was an orchestra with about 80 musicians, and the chorus. Carmina Burana don't need fire dancers, need musicians. This is the worst interpretation on youtube.

Really enjoyed the video. Makes me wish I could have been there! Kudos!

That fire is awesome.
But you could have just muted the sound and put the song in after.
This looks like a satanic ritual though.

@frikisada I completely agree. Seriously, take the music before the poor visual aspect next time you attempt a brilliant work

the orchestra is on a small stage between the fire dancers and the choir. About 8 amazing musicians, 60 beautiful singers and 30 fire dancers.
