  • @fannars Just got to meet to right people mate ;)

  • Absolutely fantastic video! I showed it to some children I work with, they liked the way the people helped the bird in trouble, as they put it, excellent role modelling, we should always help animals when they are in distress, humans have hands animals from hummingbirds to lions don't, a moral responsibility, and based on your video although you were concerned for the bird, it looked like a good experience for you all.

  • i once saw a huge swarm of them loop down out of the sky, and attack an old granny as she exited the grocery store. they picked her bones clean with a speed that was surreal. that's when the nice hobo who lived in the park gave me the talisman that protects me from them to this very day. ok, that didn't really happen.

  • Excellent. I don't know hummingbirds. You might be right that it was just stunned, or it may have been immature?

  • This little bird was shocked with fear and needed some rest before he could fly again. The best thing to do when this happens is first, rescue it as you did and then let the bird alone is a safe place (e.g. into a tree, high enough so that cats can't notice it). Then it can recover if you stay far from it and try not to frighten it even more. Otherwise, it could die with accumulated fear, even several days later because of the toxins gathered in its body during this frigntening experience...

  • aww what a sweet guy saveing a lil bird

  • good hands!! i'd be afraid that i might hurt it more with my big ole meat hooks...

  • Aww :3 What a cute humming bird! I saved a humming bird from my garage once. It was freaking out the poor little thing it kept attacking its shadow on the ceiling. :( We let him go after a few pictures :).
