Jeremy Clarkson tests the effects of g-force by taking a spin in a centrifuge. If a young, fit pilot loses consciousness in six seconds how is a 40-year old smoker going to cope? Fascinating clip from the BBC programme Speed. Watch more high quality videos on the new BBC Worldwide YouTube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/bbcworldwide

  • thats exactly what i look like when im constipating

  • the more unfit the are the easier it is for you as you have higher blood pressure. but this is clearly faked. he isnt even breathing heavilt or anything. in that kind of situation he would have passed out nearly instantly

  • @AgentPunisher

    He'd nail it.

  • i enjoyed this vid

  • im gonna clench my buttocks when it gets bad :L

  • It's little overstatement. Pilots can tolerate even 13 G's.

  • @redkingrd Actually, . Little fluids in your ears determine how well you are balanced, tilt left or right, you're fluids will move and tell the brain to get back on balance, the more the fluids move, you start to become dizzy

  • This is the gayest thing I have ever seen. You mean to tell me the technician can't watch on a monitor from outside the room?!

  • @faztclix they would only get dizzy if they were looking at the outside of the machine because the eyes would want to stay focused on a stationary object and would keep moving to keep trying to stay focused on any object not moving but if they look at something inside the machine that's moving with them then it seems as if they are not spinning, its hard explain. try this, spin around very fast with your eyes open and you will get dizzy but spin around with them closed and you won't get dizzy.

  • Always wondered, how about the guys sitting in the centre, coz I would get dizzy!
