Teddy Roosevelt charging up the San Juan Heights, the Rough Riders and the sinking of the battleship, the U.S.S. Maine---these are what people commonly know about the United States' war with Spain in 1898. What they may not remember is that this was the war that steered the United States to center stage as a world power. Victorious over Spain in Cuba and the Philippines, the United States, a nation founded in opposition to imperialism, grappled with its new role as an imperial power. More recent events in Vietnam, Somalia, and Yugoslavia bear striking parallels to those of 1898. Even in its own time, the war with Spain was understood as a turning point in American history.

  • and the last anglo saxon fucked in spanish is the SPANISH AMERICAN WAR that takes the last possetions under spanish control(CUBA, PORTO RICO,HAWAII AND PANAMA) and this fucked 100% spain resulting in a crisis and later in the spanish civil war, i was thinking anglo saxons fucked all spain including GIBRALTAR...SPANISH PEOPLE MUST HAVE GREAT NIGHTMARES OF ANGLO SAXON TIDE AND BLADE, NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY SPANISH CONSERVATIVE DONT LIKE THE ENGLISH...AHAHHAHAHAHA...BUT ENGLISH IS BETTER THAN SPANISH

  • @thenigga847 The feud between Spain and England goes back to just before the Elizabethan ages as England was converting to protestant. Spain always failed terribly against the English/Americans in war and European influence. During Elizabeth, they sent their entire Spanish Armada to England to destroy it, and they failed miserably. The Spanish Civil War was caused by "communists" and not by English. Please educate yourself before saying things.

  • @thenigga847

Hawaii was never Spanish, and Panama was a Colombian territory

  • @xXMoratoXx Listen, win a battle and win a war is two different things...Blaz de lezo win a important battle in a not important conflict, because the british side not loose lands and colonies and Spain only tried to mantain and defend the cartagenas and south american territories and Blaz de Lezo defended... but the Spanish side loose important conflicts to Anglo Saxons and now english is the dominant language and Gibraltar are now longer yours...hahahaahahah

  • Cuba 1898, Iraq 2003. Replace Weyler with Saddam and the Maine with WMD and you got it. Funny how History repeats itself.

¡Viva España, God fuck your bastard Queen and your uncle Sam! X-D

(PD: Ahora corre al traductor de Google, macho)

  • its time to kick some latin corrupt asses ahhaha!!! its funny because anglo saxons fuck totally the spanish douchebags in many oportunities, first with the mighy english and after with USA...first the anglo saxon victory in the great armada is the point when spanish empire decline, second british victory over the coalition of french and spanish(LATIN BASTARDS) in the napoleonic wars FUCKED TOTALLY SPANISH COLONIAL EMPIRE AND GIVES GIBRALTAR TO BRITAIN(STILL BRITISH) CONTINUE

  • @crazyknight2008

The irony concerning many of the jealous, anti-American bastards such as yourself is that you commit a logical fallacy by making a generalization about all Americans from one mistake (allegedly) in an American documentary.

Now sit down and shut up and think before speaking in the future.

  • Thats cool that the then Spain King was 14 years old.

  • The main exploded due to an internal fire...not a mine......stupid americans.
