Weird, I've always found Ten/Rose more interesting. :D But people really can love a person for their personality even if their outer appearance has changed. Take people who get into accidents or gain weight for example.

Unfortunately, Rosianna's also taken most of my responses about this episode as well. So, instead I'll answer your Dalek/Davros question.
The Daleks were the first Doctor Who villains. I'm talking the very first multi-part story arc. They've pretty much been a regular staple of the Doctor's rogues gallery ever since. And Davros was there for a great deal of it, so seeing him back is simply amazing and incredibly frightening.
