You will be awesome parents!!! The only things I ever baby proofed was the stairs and plugs. I was blessed with a child who never got into anything UNTIL now (he just turned 7) lol

Ive only ever spanked my child once.. when she ran out into the street, it scared her so much , she never did it again. I use time out, and that can work for most situations if your consistant. its your own preferance and what you believe is acceptable , and what you find works. as for baby proofing, you seem to have the basics down, the best advice i can give , is to see what kind of baby he is. My daughter never touched things, and wasnt a climber so I didnt need as much.

wedges for doors, babies love shutting doors, in this fingers can get pinched..and for discipline, everyone has their own techniques, it wwill be a youll know whats right kinda thing..i was spanked, and i have to admit, i dont want to ever have to spank but i will if i have to, we tend to raise as we were, i really hope i can be a good parent too, but i think you guys got this, youll be great
