Why I live in Seattle

@josiahsixkiller Are you talking about size as in real estate? I'm talking about population and I just checked to see exact numbers and I was surprised at how small the population in Minneapolis and st paul were, I knew they were much smaller than Seattle, but didn't know by that much. St paul doesn't even have half the population Seattle does. We are more comparable to San Francisco.

I sailed The Northwest for 20 years have you? I know 3 or 4 people that have actually sailed in the Pacific, most just sit in tiny little Puget Sound in the channels or the filthy lakes and think that's sailing while paying ridiculous marina fees. Lake Superior dwarfs them all and is about 1/10th of the cost. I will never argue physical beauty, The NW is stunningly beautiful. It was worth it for me through my twenties as well, but no more overpriced apartments or condos for me.

@YourLoveLetter Wrong wrong wrong! You need to get out more. Minneapolis/Saint Paul is almost exactly the same size metro area as Seattle/Tacoma/Bellevue, that's just a fact! So Seattle is a small city then. Sorry. They trade spots between 15th and 16th one bigger than the other every other year almost. Educate yourself before making up ridiculous statements and making yourself look foolish.

@josiahsixkiller Prices here are appropriate for it's size. And the prices have actually dropped below the typical going rate for living in a city of its size because of the economy. We have the entire ocean to go sailing, and we get to see orcas. I have a pretty nice view of mt rainier and the puget sound from here...worth every penny :) My friend from MN came back for a visit and actually felt emotional after seeing a mountain for the first time in so long, something we take for granted here.
Josiahsixkiller and YourLoveLetter were blocked from this video for continuing to argue back and forth over Seattle vs. St. Paul. It was digressive and unproductive.

I'm not sure why either of you are arguing over a simple video I posted a few years ago but I'd appreciate it if you took your argument offline between the two of you. You're clogging up a Comments page with bickering that will only be resolved with two of you agreeing to disagree.

I live in Seattle. traffic sucks, cold, hardly any sun, rains alot, people can't drive here either. So, why am still here? I have a decent job and jobs are hard to come by in this economy. Moving is easier said than done.

@van907 No matter where you live, a place will have its pros and cons. It's a matter of which pros and cons you are willing to live with. The video was made not long after I moved here, it was a glorious day, and (yes) that was during much better economic times than now.
