Weekly Update: Closing Business of the First Session of the 112th Congress

U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman discusses five items the Senate has been working on this week in order to close the first session of the 112th Congress: the federal budget for fiscal year 2012, extension of the payroll tax cut, unemployment insurance extension, Medicare physician reimbursement, and certain tax extenders such as those for alternative energy. As of this recording, the FY12 budget has been negotiated but some other items are still being negotiated. Check Bingaman's website in the coming days for more information.
