Colonel Bogey March
Der Colonel Bogey March ist ein weltweit bekannter Militärmarsch. Er wurde 1914 vom britischen Militärmusikkapellmeister Frederick Joseph Ricketts geschrieben (besser bekannt unter seinem Künstlernamen Kenneth J. Alford). Bekannt wurde der Marsch durch den Film „Die Brücke am Kwai aus dem Jahr 1957, in dem die Kriegsgefangenen das Thema des Marsches pfeifen.

This march was written in 1914 by Lieutenant Frederick Joseph Ricketts who used the nom de plume Kenneth Alford.

@wolfofpaso I´m german and served in the Luftwaffe ( German Airforce) from 1987-1991. Together with our american comrades we defended Germany and Western-Europe against the communists.
Thanks to all GI´s. You came as enemies then became liberators, later on allies and protectors and now you are friends and partners. God bless America! God bless the German-American friendship!

Either they have no idea what the lyrics were, or the Germans at least have a sense of humor!
Composer: sir Malcolm Henry Arnold ( 1921- 2006) for the film "Bridge over the river Kwaî" (1957).

The piece was originally written in 1914 by Kenneth Alford. It was accompanied by a counter-melody (known as "The River Kwai March") written by the film's composer, Malcolm Arnold. (wiki)
