  • hehe, a few answers.....no welcome sign here, we were USA bound. Yes we have to stop in the USA for customs check..usually just to see if the cars match the paperwork and also a once over inspection by border patrol.

  • at about 20 secods in it sounds liek hes diong up his fly lol

  • Hahaha, I was closing up my lunch bag... funny comment :) it does sound like I was doing up my zipper :P

  • True, those are some pretty gradual equilateral turnouts there. I live in New England so I'm not used to seeing too many 60 mph turnouts. The best turnouts here in Maine are Limited Speed. Is Sarnia your home terminal? How far west does the next crew district go? Can one crew make it all the way to Markham (old IC/Chicago) or does it take 2?

  • 2 crews..whether be it a Sarnia crew from Toronto to Pt huron Mi..then onward to Chicago with GT crew or London crew to Detroit 1 crew, London crews take the train to Detroit (East yard). London crews also recrew trains around London from Toronto destined to Sarnia and points west.

  • Also, what is the zone speed through the tunnel? Looks like you were doing around 40 (if my estimations are correct) after you passed the overhead bridge before the tunnel. And the equilateral turnout coming into the Port Huron yard must be a Limited Speed (couldn't see the signal indication in the video) turnout by the looks of it.

  • hehe, quite often we're flying out at 60MPH so I hope the speed limit is at least 60,

  • When we went through which was during the tunnel's grand opening in '95, the tunnel was a lot brighter inside.

  • @SkilledRailroader it is indeed 60mph - I've run trains through it a number of times.

  • no welcome to Canada sign :(

  • You will love to see this picture of the tunnel in 1905 shorpy.com/node/10348

  • Do you trains have to stop for US/Canada customs

  • Awesome bro! We have the Windsor - Detroit tunnel were I was based.

  • Serious question: What happens when you have to take a dump really bad???

  • Used to live about 15 miles south of there.

  • Great video. I could watch it for hours
