TITLE: "Is It Not Enough"
A Soft Spoken Word piece I wrote about the pain I had to endure as my heart was defenseless to the undeniable betrayal and mistreatment I've suffered over the years. When writing this piece I thought back on all the times I poured out my heart. Gave so much love and attention, trusted with all my heart, but in return being treated as if I were nothing. To all the young women out there who feel that love will never be a two way street. You must first love yourself. When we give so much of ourselves, there is an underlying trace of low-self esteem and feelings of inadequacy. We must believe and love ourselves before we can truly give to another without being used and abused. If your partner isn't giving you the respect and reciprocating love, then, its time to re-evaluate your idea of love and move on. You truly deserve better. He is the one with the problem; lack of respect for another human being. You will find yourself and you will be happier once you realize your self worth and value yourself more. Love begins with loving yourself.
