@projectmayhem2012 I haven't been able to read the books yet, but how you put it, it seems like the same thing happened with the new Voyage of the Dawn Trader movie. That was my favorite of the Narnia books and they BUTCHERED the plot. Thanks Disney for ruining an awesome story.

Okay, now I get it! I was always so confused with the concept of daemons, but I think that I understand it fully. Basically, a daemon is you, just a seperate part of you. Like, when Lyra is telling Pan to sop being scared, she's telling herself to be brave.
And the reason why you can't touch another's daemon is because it would be like molestation almost. And, that relates to why Dust is bad. It makes you grow up almost, and circumcision stopps kids from themselves almost. or something...

compared to the books, this film was an utter fucking failure and a disgrace. so many major plot points were cut out and/or rearranged. this movie is rushed and watered down and is a terrible insult to the books, and it is sad that all the people out there who could have sat down and opened up the book to read, are going to instead settle for this piece of shit below-mediocre film.
