'Faith of the Heart' remix version brought in with Season 3. The Star Trek prefix was reintroduced for the third episode, 'Extinction' onwards. I always thought the name Enterprise by itself, was perfect for a show set before all the others. The ship's name being an instantly recognisable icon, bigger than any one character from any of the 5 series.

whats interesting is that the space shuttle enterprise is there, and implied to have been one of the predecessors/inspirations for enterprise's name. But in reality the shuttle was named (sort of) after the NCC-1701

Zephram Cochrane didn't want to go into space to become the legend that he would inevitably become.... rather, he wanted to do it for "women, dollar signs... money. I don't even like to fly, I take trains!"

It is a possible future. It is doubtable that we will see it in our lifetime tho. But we can only do what we can now to make things better for the generations that follow. The more individual effort we make to improve upon ourselves now is already affecting the future. The story of our own 'Star Trek' can start now if we wanted it to.

Actually, i agree. I don't hate the song, I actually like it, but not for a star trek show. Its just not timeless. I mean, imaging if Next Generation had 80s pop music. It would not age well.

I disagree. There are certain religious undertones in the song that I don't like (I would have avoided words like "faith" and "soul" because of their religious connotations). The general message the intro portrays is sound though.

I find it inspiring. Especially in video with the images they chose to show. Star Trek has always inspired me. As many people I see it as a very possible future of us as a species. As the song implies though, we've still got a lot of hurdles to get over.

and most importantly: get Elon Musk, Neil deGrasse Tyson, David Suzuki, Ray Kurzweil, and Michio Kaku to consult on the show.

    3) Leverage the interest around the Mars Rover

    4) Leverage the recent discovery of Earth-like planets

    5) Tap into issues surrounding sustainability (like what we have seen with the explosion of growth in Solar and EVs

    6) Tap into the whole smart phone phenomenon: make it sexy...

    7) Tap into (more so than they did) with the uniting of people on earth due to the discovery of Aliens (this is likely crucial to our long term survival as a species)

    8) address von Neumann probes

    9) Dyson Rings
