When Lady Diana Spencer married Prince Charles, she became Diana, Princess of Wales and dropped the "Lady" from her title, even though she was a lady all her life. It's like calling her miss mrs Windsor. She couldn't be the 2 things at once. She was Princess Diana until her divorce, and even after, retained the princess title. And by the way, Tony Blair was not the first person to call her the "People's Princess" . She was first called that way back into the early 1980s. Fact.
