Tex's Demo of the Benelli Nova Tactical and super nova Shell stop

This is just a quick demo of the Benelli nova shell stop feature and why it makes the Benelli more suited to a law enforcement patrol shotgun over the Remington 870. However for civilians I do not know if it is an issue but its nice to have options.

hey tex i have a benelli nova tactical and im having trouble loading more then 2 shells into the clip once i get two in it wont hold anymore. but the manuel says it should hold 4

thats because it has a duckplug in it. Its been a long time sense i read my manuel but i think it might say how to remove it.

i dont get it. nothing special about that. any pump action shotgun works that way!

it is differnt than a normal way of working.... it stops the magazine from releasing a new shell so you can drop one in the chamber instead of try to cross load the magazine.

That is a pretty cool feature, not that i would ever have a need to use it as you said. If im shooting im shooting lethal. I use a mossberg.

well it just removes the training issue of crossloading the magazine. It is more for LEO than anything however its handy to be able to change over for one shot size to another quickly in a duck blind.

I find it useful for pheasant hunting in South Dakota when crossing a fence on a farm because you need to empty the chamber so you dont shoot anybody

man i could have really used one of these deer hunting last year...I was crawling through some thick pine forest with my 1100 fully loaded with slugs when a grouse started running around and flapping his wings...would have loved to use the shell stop to jack a birdshot in and blast him

@quarvis That's normal of just about any pump shotgun. My Benelli Nova and my 1300 Winchester Defender both do this.

I've had my tactical for 5 years, only ever had 2 shells jamb and I've pushed the button and racked it back and out comes the bad shell. Super reliable gun and in 15 seconds you have the firing mechanism out for cleaning. Great video dude!
