  • W O W . What can you say to that? Judy Garland at that age maintaining that in front of adults, camera and crew is just completely irreplaceable talent. That's all there is to it. The intelligence and confidence to actually do this and be so vulnerable eclipses the talent of anyone that age now dancing around in their limelight, and so many much older. Judy Garland has it on so many of them- in multiple disciplines- and she deserves all her praise and more!

  • Happy 89th birthday to a truly great, talented, and legendary woman! Rest in peace, beautiful Judy.

  • i'm sobbing.

  • @ianwhitt91 Well her dad had died just a couple years earlier, maybe she was thinking of him.

  • @ItsFlapJack

We can't know what method she used to reach that emotional state. So "reality" is up for debate.

  • @chrissen1 She was emotional because of the scene she had to do. She was supposed to be acting scared because she was locked in the tower.

  • First there's no denying her talent as an actress/singer from the very beginning yet keep in mind Judy had been on benzadrine regularly 2 yrs and barbituates on a semi-regular basis before the filming of TWOZ and once filming began she was more than likely taking both daily and the combination of these drugs on a daily basis wreaks havoc on your emotional stabilty to the point where crying (or laughter or hysterics) can be summoned with ease by nothing more than a i second passing thought.

  • I couldn't listen to the whole thing without tearing up. Just amazing.

  • @ttmarlene ..Shes crying for the scene where she was locked in the witches castle. She was acting it wasn't for real.

  • This is so sad, they should have kept it in

  • Oh my God! This is so emotionally amazing! Just incredible that she could sing and cry like that! Imagine- if they had left this in- how we'd all be cry babies at this point in the movie!

  • oh no....why is judy crying????
