  • You need your hearing checked. David Phelps is classically trained. Adam Lambert, well, has no class. Or voice, for that matter.

  • Chills. How beautiful. No one else

can sing that sing quite like David.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • i love this .. wish it was a better quality .. but he does a great job !

  • All do respect I listen to live recording of bobby singing this and David destroys him also I believe David to be the best live vocalist ever

  • rockinat60: YOU ARE CORRECT, I WAS WRONG. Bobby Hatfield did indeed sing "Unchained Melody". IN 1966, in Las Vegas my wife and I saw the "Righteous Brothers". When Bobby sang "Unchained Melody"; the entire place was spellbound. By the way, I really did know Bobby Sang "Unchained Melody". At my age my mistake is often referred to as "Old Timers" NOT "Alzheimers". LOL. Anyway, Thank you for calling my attention to my error. Good Luck.

  • @YoungAtHeart1941 Excuse me! But Bill Medley DID NOT sing this-Bobby Hatfield sang this one.Bill was featured on "You've Lost That Lovin Feelin"-Anyone who is a true Righteous Brothers fan knows that! While David is good NO ONE can compare to Bobby Hatfield on this one. Loved that man's voice and Love the Righteous Brothers.

  • So effortless, what a voice

  • Probably each of us is influenced by the Artist(s) we first heard sing this song. For instance; I first heard this song by the Platters in the 50's and still prefer the Platters version. Regardless of preference, this young man David Phelps is an incredibly talented vocalist. Any male who can hit C#6 (David did and can) is an ultra, ultra talented vocalist. C#6 is in the range of a female Soprano. And better yet, David professes and lives a Born Again Christian Life. GO DAVID!!

  • @YoungAtHeart1941 it is not a falsetto .... he sings in Full chest voice ... he only sings in falsetto after this part, and it's because of the arrangement that need the rest to be singing in falsetto or in head voice

  • Thank you. I love ya too!

  • @YoungAtHeart1941 haha ...show me that version big boy ...

the version i found on youtube clearly shows that their lead singer enters into falsetto when he hits the hight note on " I need " . David Phelps sings that in full chest voice . Later he sings in head voice -falsetto , but that , just because he wants to . Still listen to his studio version of this song .

In fact ,do you know David Phelps ??? . Just check him out on youtube and you will be allowed to talk .

  • Not bad but not even close to Bill Medley of the "Righteous Brothers". The best of the best was by "The Platters" (1950's). Their lead singer hit the high note on " I Need" Your Love (no falsetto; naturally) and kept right on singing so incredibly, incredibly high. Even Bill medley used falsetto to hit the high note on "Need" and quickly backed off. Not the Platters.
