I'm sure some of you are familiar with this song. It's the same Fulani song you see on Ali Farka Toure's Radio Mali CD, although it's spelled differently as Seygalare. This song was composed with Hoddu player Nassouru Hamidou Sarré. He was the same Hoddu player on several songs on the Radio Mali CD.

  • I saw the comment on 'kid'an mutuwa'. the name is really deep, literally its like 'the drumming of death', but I'm sure the piece has a completely different meaning to the Fulani whose music this is.

  • @anak1 that is correct, like Badra said it is completely different from what it is in Hausa. Seygalare is the best piece of Fulani folklore. It speaks of courage and how to be strong in the most demanding times.

  • Actually i was wrong bro this is the so called KIDDIN MUTUA orthe song of the death.

Back home in Niger when ever you hear this music then you could assume that the is a coup d'etat in the country!! That is why we called the song of the death assuming that some people have surely died ...in the coup d'etat. Honestly i was spoked by this song...

I am sure if am the only one bro! Thanks!!

  • It's ok, you're welcome brother.

  • Seygalaare e kalaare yewtini Pulaaku

  • Salam
